Coronavirus (COVID-19) Information
Village Glen as a provider of aged care, retirement living and home care on the Mornington Peninsula are working with our community to put in place the necessary protocols to protect residents and staff during the global COVID-19 pandemic. We are following the direction from the Department of Health and peak bodies and being agile in our response to this crisis to take steps to keep our Village Glen family healthy.
We ask that everyone in our Village Glen community support us in protecting residents and the team that look after them. We have noted a few things below that you can do to assist us.
Aged Care Residences – Mornington & Capel Sound
Village Glen has implemented visiting restrictions at our aged care residences as part of our response to COVID-19 and to protect everyone in our community.
Where possible, we can facilitate contact between families and residents through our “Virtual Visiting” program and window visits. Village Glen has also purchased a suite of new iPads and Apple TVs to allow for communication to continue in new ways.
Where visiting is permitted, all visitors will be screened prior to entering and temperatures will be taken. In line with new legislation, all visitors must also show proof of a 2020 flu vaccination to enter an aged care facility. These precautions are also in place for all staff and contractors.

Retirement Living & Flexicare Home Support
Our Prime Minister Scott Morrison has also recently advised Australian’s that if you are over 70 years old, you are extremely vulnerable to COVID-19, and therefore should isolate at home. We support this to protect our residents, clients, their families and our staff.
To this end we have strongly encouraged residents and clients take their health and wellbeing into their own hands and stay at home. Furthermore, to not allow non-essential visitors to enter their home nor children under the age of 16 be present within your home or within Village Glen.
To assist our residents in keeping themselves healthy and safe at home, we have adapted our catering services to a delivery and take-away service and are assisting residents with shopping. We are also taking some of our exercise classes and activities online to keep supporting residents while at home.
